Silver Snipers - A CS GO TEAM with an average age of 71!

The Silver Snipers are a Swedish CS GO team where the oldest member is 81, and the youngest is 62! The group was assembled by former NiP (Ninjas in Pyjamas) player Tommy ‘Potti’ Ingermarsson who is a ten-time CS world champion and now retired to coach other teams. He is currently working with the team to try to ready them for their exhibition match at DreamHack Winter, the worlds largest LAN party event.

The members are :
Bertil "Berra-Bang" Englund
Monica ‘Teen Slayer" Idenfors
Abbe "BirDie" Drakborg
Wanja "Knitting Knight" Godange
Oivind "Windy" Toverud

People attending DreamHack Winter can even challenge the team for a chance to play them in one of the exhibition matches.
I am assuming that the Silver in the name Silver Snipers is referring to their hair?
And with nicknames like "Teen Slayer" and "Knitting Knight," Who would want to miss the exhibition match that they are going to play?
Joking aside, The Silver Snipers overall aim is to show that gaming is open to all ages and not just for the younger crowd. They also said that it has helped to give them a confidence boost.

Video games are often thought to provide only brain-numbing violence and mindless entertainment, there's been growing evidence people can benefit from playing them — especially the elderly. Tests have shown certain types of video games can improve older adults’ memory, ability to multitask, and reaction time. In fact, some research has even shown video games could improve the cognitive ability of older adults so much that the brain’s level of function is on par with that of someone in their 20s.
We wish the Silver Snipers good luck on their upcoming matches and hope that they continue competing in the future.
